On behalf the Maharishi community, I warmly welcome you to our school and hope that you find our website to be a great source of information about our school. I expect that you have visited our school’s website because you are curious about what our school represents and what it would provide to your children.
I have come to the school with 20 years of experience in the Government education system and began my career as a high school Science, Geography and VCE Biology teacher in a large Secondary School. I had many varied roles; working with students in careers, student wellbeing, transition and many leadership opportunities along the way and knew the moment I was appointed as the Principal of Maharishi, that I am part of a school that develops confident, happy students who know their place in the world.
Being a member of the extended community for many years, I have always felt a sense of calm and peace when on the grounds and interacting with the staff and students; I have watched young minds grow and develop in a safe and encouraging environment and seen deep thinkers emerge that truly value the world and people around them.
As an Independent School, Maharishi School was established in 1997 with a point of difference to other schools. The emergence of our school as a “school of choice” for many families is based on the philosophy under which the school was founded 20 years ago.
The Maharishi School offers a holistic program that accelerates a student to reach their full potential by providing them with techniques, understanding and strategies, to grow and evolve in a nurturing environment, that truly develops the whole student from within, producing students who radiate intelligence, creativity and happiness. We believe that an environment that promotes a strong foundation of values, resilience, initiative, happiness and harmony, successfully contributes to the complete development of the child.
Our teaching and learning programs explore the depth and meaning in learning, constantly challenging our students and giving them purposefulness in whatever they do. This philosophy, and these aims and values, are supported at Maharishi School by a unique approach to education which nourishes each child from within. Students who are part of our community learn to appreciate themselves and others and become global, caring individuals who display good humour, trust and tolerance.
