Orderliness: A Key Principle of the Science of Creative Intelligence
We at the Maharishi School, weave the principles of the Science of Creative Intelligence (SCI) into our everyday learning. These simple yet profound truths help children make sense of the world around them — and of themselves.
One principle we’ve been exploring the principle of Order is Present Everywhere.
What Is Orderliness?
Orderliness means recognising patterns, sequences, and systems in nature, in learning, and even in our own thinking. It’s the understanding that life isn’t random — that there’s a natural structure and flow we can learn from and apply in everything we do.
From the spirals of a sunflower to the steps in a maths problem, students discover that orderliness helps things work well — and that developing good habits of order can bring calm, focus, and success.
🌿 A Maharishi Perspective on Order
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi explained the nature of order in this way:
"Order is the very nature of life. Wherever life is, there is order. And where there is order, there is growth."
When students recognise that order is not something added from the outside, but something that flows naturally from within themselves and the world, they begin to trust their ability to grow, organise, and solve problems. They also see how building inner calm and focus leads to more ordered, effective learning.
Through this understanding, order becomes more than just tidiness or sequence — it becomes a living principle that supports balance, clarity, and confidence.
📘 Why Order Matters
Teaching the SCI principle of Orderliness helps children:
Recognise beauty and structure in learning and nature
Build strong habits and independent learning skills
Feel secure and capable in their daily routines
At Maharishi School, these moments of insight help our students not only understand the world but thrive in it. By teaching principles like Order is Present Everywhere, we help our students see the connection between the world outside and the world within. This is the essence of Consciousness-Based Education: nurturing understanding, insight, and harmony at every level.
Because when learning makes sense, it becomes a joy.
